Dallas has one of the largest Gay populations in the US and is home to the largest GLBT church: The Cathedral of Hope. Gay Dallas is primarily centered around the Oak Lawn area with bars, restaurants, and stores found throughout Cedar Springs Rd and Oak Lawn Avenue. The intersection of Throckmorton and
Cedar Springs has been called the  “crossroads” of Oak Lawn and is the home to a bunch of GLBT Bars, coffee shops, book stores, video stores, services, and restaurants  within walking distance. Being a big city, there is a wide variety of people and scenes, so you are sure to find what you seek.

Oak Lawn is known for its fabulous restaurants and stylish bars as well as being one of the few nationally  recognized gay  neighborhoods in the
country. Many conventional ideas about Texas are being dispelled by this forward thinking area and its  residents.

There’s much more to Dallas than most people think and Oak Lawn is one ideal example of that. Known locally as their “gayborhood”, Oak Lawn is adjacent to the Dallas Design District, and as a result conveys a very artsy, upscale feeling. Recognized as being the area’s center for gay and lesbian themed entertainment district, Oak Lawn has tons to offer the GLBT traveler.  Its main strip is Cedar Springs, which is the epicenter of Dallas’ gay nightlife. With establishments that cater to every whim within walking distance what more could you ask for!

Weekends are undeniably the busiest time for Gay Dallas, but the
community is always active no matter when you have time to visit. With diverse crowds and so much to do, Oak Lawn should be at the top of your relocation list for Dallas. Oaklawn real estate has
flourished with abundance of new  construction projects!  Most housing in Oak lawn has moved to stylish condos and town homes, but single family homes can be found throughout the area! For other great Dallas areas and popular gay neighborhoods, please view my online relocation guide
